Third Ferrari Hypercar confirmed for 2026 FIA WEC
Ferrari’s Global Head of Endurance & Corse Clienti Antonello Coletta has confirmed the return of both the factory Hypercar Ferrari 499Ps and the additional, privately-entered, AF Corse car for next season's FIA World Endurance Championship.
The privately entered car from Ferrari’s factory team partners AF Corse took an overall race win in 2024 at Circuit of The Americas and has played a significant role in a dominant start to the 2025 WEC for Ferrari. Coletta outlined the value to the 499P program of the privateer car with the ability to gather data and compare results from testing and practice sessions.
If the entry is accepted, a return for the car, currently running as No. 83, in 2026 would be the third season for the car in what looks set to be a growing field of Hypercars, with the Genesis Magma Racing team set to join next season with a pair of GMR 001 LMDh entries.
The No. 83, crewed in 2025 by Robert Kubica, Ferrari factory driver Ye Yifei and Phil Hanson, debuted in 2024 and took an overall win at COTA with Kubica and Ye joined by full-season teammate Robert Shwartzman, who departed post season to take up an IndyCar opportunity with PREMA Racing, which will see him start from the pole position in Sunday's Indianapolis 500.
